Bluebell
by Maria Regina
It felt like everything stopped. As if a shroud of silence has suddenly enveloped the universe.
Despite the heat of the beating sun , a chill crept down my spine, every hair on end. I knew that I’ve ran for quite a distance, but the burden I’ve carried remains close.
I glanced back from time to time, looking for a sign, but all that greets me is the vast desert of Strata. I shook my head, trying to clear it.
My eyes dart from left to right, hoping that I will spot a human or anything alive.
For god's sake, where is it? I reached a point where all should’ve been seen, but -
- my heart went silent. As all I could see was a mirage of bluebells.
